SAE RECEIVES TOP AWARD

Iowa Gamma was among just five fraternities in the nation to be awarded the coveted 'Chapter Award of Distinction' by the North-American Inter-Fraternity Council (NIC), in Washington D.C. During a black tie dinner in our nation's capitol, former Congressman Ed Pease, who is the President of the NIC, presented past Eminent Archon Matt Neilsen with the award.
We currently just finished up Greek Week 2010 and finished 2nd in the Greek community! We also took home many awards from this including the Gold Level for Fraternal Excellance from Iowa State!
According to Nielsen, the entire experience was 'awesome and amazing... enthusiasm is running high at Iowa Gamma'. According to the NIC, the award was presented to Iowa Gamma for the overall strength of the chapter and for how it shapes the young men who pass through the house. It was cited for its high academic achievement, strong recruitment efforts and outstanding alumni support.
Iowa Gamma was one of just three SAE chapters to be nominated by Evanston to be considered for the honor. Prior to the awards dinner, the Fraternity Service Center hosted a reception honoring the chapter. Among those in attendance were Eminent Supreme Recorder Tom Goodale '62 and past Eminent Supreme Archon Richard Hopple.
